Writing Prompt

Published by aggeloi at 2:19 pm under Prompts Edit This

Today’s prompt:

The room was cold and bare, with a bit of spilled yogurt on the floor.

Have fun with this one. No character has been introduced yet, so you have a lot of freedom here. Who is looking at this cold and bare room? Who is your main character? What tone will your piece have - humorous, melancholy, hopeful? Keep these questions in mind as you flesh this sentence out into a story.

For an added challenge, give yourself a specific word limit. Will you keep it to 3,000 words? 1,500? What about 953? Set a specific limit, and then do what you must to keep that limit. This will force you to keep your writing succinct and clear, without a lot of unnecessary words bogging it down.

Happy writing!
